The snow-covered market square of Jelenia Góra with the town hall and colourful facades

Jelenia Góra

Jelenia Góra is the charming historic capital of the Giant Mountains (Karkonosze). Stroll across the colourful market square and through the old streets, settle down on one of the café terraces, or go shopping in Galeria Sudecka, the town’s largest modern shopping centre.

We recommend a visit to the Muzeum Karkonoskie, where you can find out more about the history and culture of Jelenia Góra and the Giant Mountains. Its extensive collection of art glass is a highlight, alongside exhibitions on archaeology, art and life in the region.

Don’t miss Cieplice, the historic spa district of Jelenia Góra, with its lovely parks, old spa buildings and warm thermal springs. A wonderful place to combine a walk around town with a few relaxing hours in the thermal baths of Termy Cieplickie.

Wrocław's market square with the old town hall

Wrocław

Wrocław is one of the most beautiful and lively cities in Poland and well worth a day trip. Explore the impressive market square with its colourful facades and historic town hall, walk along the waterways and across the bridges to the atmospheric cathedral island of Ostrów Tumski, and keep an eye out along the way for the hundreds of little bronze dwarfs hidden all over the city.

Café terraces, restaurants, museums and stunning architecture make Wrocław a wonderful city to wander around for a whole day.

Our advice: take the train. From Janowice Wielkie you travel directly to Wrocław Główny, the city’s beautiful main station, close to the centre. No traffic jams, no parking hassle, and after a long day in the city you can travel back to Domstolat in comfort.
