Practical tips and frequently asked questions
Everything that is useful to know before and during your stay at Domstolat: arrival, keys, shopping, medical help and the questions guests ask us most often.
Practical tips
In the week before you arrive, we will give you a call so that we can prepare your arrival and the house as well as possible. Please let us have a mobile number on which we can easily reach you during your holiday too. You can reach us on +48 510 098 489 and +31 6 24587928.
Arrival and keys
Check-in: 3 pm (15:00) · check-out: 11 am (11:00).
Please call the local manager 15 minutes before you arrive, so that he can hand you the key in person and show you around. During your holiday, too, the local manager is your first point of contact.
By arrangement, you can also collect the key yourself from a key safe on site, using a code.
Shopping
There is a Dino supermarket in the village: ul. 1 Maja 25A, 58-520 Janowice Wielkie. Open Monday to Saturday from 6 am to 10.30 pm (06:00–22:30). Most shops in Poland are closed on Sundays.
Medical help
Janowice Wielkie itself has a GP practice / primary care medical centre: Pharmed Centrum Medyczne Multi-Med, Wojska Polskiego 16, 58-520 Janowice Wielkie, tel. +48 75 751 51 17. Open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm (08:00–18:00).
After 6 pm, at night and on public holidays there is no out-of-hours GP service in Janowice Wielkie itself. Multi-Med then refers patients to the night and holiday service of the Wojewódzkie Centrum Szpitalne Kotliny Jeleniogórskiej in Jelenia Góra, ul. Ogińskiego 6, tel. +48 75 753 73 35.
Call 112 for genuine emergencies.

Frequently asked questions
When is the house available?
On the homepage, above the booking request form, you will find two availability calendars: one for House A and one for House B. They show which dates are already booked and update automatically. For the whole house, both homes need to be free. Then feel free to send a request through the form, with no obligation.
Can I book a single room?
No, unfortunately not. We are not a guesthouse or a hotel. You can rent House A, House B or the whole house A+B.
What is the minimum length of stay?
A minimum of 2 nights, and in July, August and over Christmas and New Year a minimum of 7 nights.
Are there fixed changeover days?
Only in July and August is Saturday the fixed changeover day: arrival and departure are then only possible on a Saturday. In all other months you can arrive and leave on whichever day suits you best.
How much does a stay cost?
The cost depends on the number of guests, the number of bedrooms you need, high or low season and the number of nights. Fill in the booking request form and we will make you a suitable offer, with no obligation whatsoever.
Do young children stay free?
Children up to and including two years of age stay free. Please let us know how many children you are bringing and how old they are.
Do you have a cot, high chair and playpen in the house?
Yes, on request and free of charge.
Can I bring extra guests at the last minute?
Yes, by arrangement you can always add guests to your booking.
May I bring a pet?
Certainly, pets are welcome. We charge an extra fee for this: 100 PLN or €25 per pet per stay.
What is included in the rental price?
The price includes bed linen (the beds are made up for you), a set of towels, tea towels, Wi-Fi (fibre-optic connection), cleaning costs, and a parking space and garage.
How do energy costs work?
Your energy use is recorded with a meter. If you use more than €10 worth of energy per night, the difference is charged separately. In winter, allow for additional heating costs. You can set the temperature you want in each room yourself and so keep costs down.
Do I have to pay a security deposit?
No. Please tell the local manager straight away if something is not in order or if something breaks during your stay. Who is responsible for the costs will then be decided case by case, in consultation.
Do I have to pay tourist tax?
Yes. Since January 2026 the municipality of Janowice Wielkie has charged a tourist tax of 3 PLN per person per night. Please pay this in cash to the local manager on arrival.
Can I charge my electric car on site?
Yes. The garage has a standard socket (230V) and a three-phase power connection. You will need to bring your own adapter. Please arrange this with the local manager and reimburse the electricity costs.
How sustainable is your accommodation?
We have invested a great deal in insulation, solar panels and a heat pump, and we separate our waste. Old things are repaired and reused. And we collect rainwater for the garden.
Can the house be reached by train and public transport?
Absolutely. Janowice Wielkie has a railway station within walking distance of Domstolat. Once you are here, though, a car is very handy. E-bikes are available to hire nearby.
How are the kitchens equipped?
Both kitchens are fully equipped with a set of pans, plates, cutlery, cooking utensils, a kettle, a coffee maker (filter coffee), a teapot and a blender or hand blender. There is also an oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and induction hob. Please buy your own dishwasher tablets.
Is there a washing machine?
Yes, each holiday home has a washing machine. Please bring your own detergent.
Is there toilet paper?
On arrival, every toilet has a new roll of toilet paper. When it runs out, please buy more at the supermarket and restock it yourself.
How far is the house from Jelenia Góra and from Wrocław airport?
Jelenia Góra is a 15-minute drive away. Wrocław Airport is an hour and a half’s drive; by train and bus you can be there in 2.5 hours.
Do we need to clean and strip the beds when we leave?
Please leave the apartment swept clean. You do not need to strip the beds: the cleaning team does that, and they also do the final cleaning. If you like, you can leave food that has not yet passed its date in the fridge. Rubbish can go in the wheelie bin by the road and/or will be dealt with for you.
Is it customary to leave a tip?
There is no need, but it is of course always very much appreciated.
I’d like to keep in touch – do you have a newsletter?
Yes. Guests who would like one receive a newsletter from us 4 times a year. That way we keep our lovely guests, new and returning, up to date with new developments and regularly send them a special offer.
How do I write a review?
You can write a review on this website or on the site you booked through. A few sentences in your own language are enough. Reviews are hugely important for future guests and for Domstolat’s ranking. Thank you in advance, and we hope to see you again one day! Every season is beautiful here.
