What data do we collect?
Booking request form
When you request a stay, we ask for your name, email address, mobile phone number, your preferred arrival and departure dates, the number of people, the number of bedrooms and any comments. We use this data solely to send you a tailored offer and to communicate with you about your stay.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, we ask for your name, email address, optionally your phone number, and your message. We use this data solely to answer your question.
Guestbook
When you leave a message in the guestbook, your name, email address and message are stored, together with your IP address and your browser (user agent). Every message is first checked with Cloudflare’s Turnstile (see below) and then reviewed by the owner; your name and message are shown on the website only after approval. Your email address is never published. After approval, your name and email address are also added to the address book of this website’s management system; that entry is deleted automatically 24 months after your last message.
Visitor statistics
To see how many pages are viewed and which pages are read most, this website keeps simple statistics using Koko Analytics. This is done without cookies and without recognising you as a visitor: no IP addresses or other personal data are stored. The figures remain on this website’s server and are not shared with anyone.
Security
To protect the website against break-in attempts and misuse, a security plugin (Wordfence) records the IP addresses of login attempts and of blocked requests. This data is used only to keep the website secure. This data is deleted automatically after 30 days.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter, we store your email address and the language you signed up in. This is done with MailPoet, inside this website’s own management system. You first receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription; only then are you subscribed. The newsletter goes out a few times a year and is sent from the website itself, through the mail server of our hosting provider Hoasted, without any external sending service. We do not track whether a newsletter is opened or which links are clicked. Every newsletter contains a link that lets you unsubscribe with one click.
Where is your data stored?
Messages you send via the forms are emailed to info@domstolat.com and are also stored in this website’s content management system, which runs on the server of our hosting provider Hoasted. With every request or message, the system stores not only the fields you fill in but also your IP address, your browser (user agent) and the address of the page, including for messages recognised as spam. Only the owner of Domstolat and the web designer who maintains the website, with a separate administrator account, have access to the system.
How long do we keep your data?
Requests and messages you send via the forms are deleted from the website automatically 24 months after receipt. Your entry in the address book of the management system is deleted 24 months after your last contact with us. After that, this data remains in our hosting provider’s backups for at most six months. We delete the copies in our mailbox every six months once they are older than 18 months, so we never keep a request for longer than two years. Data relating to an actual booking is kept for as long as we are legally required to keep it for our accounts. Guestbook messages remain on the website for as long as the website exists, unless you ask us to remove them.
Cookies and third-party services
This website does not itself set any tracking or advertising cookies. We do, however, use three third-party components:
- Google Maps — the map showing our location is only loaded when you click ‘Show the map’. Until you click, no connection is made with Google. After you click, Google may process data about your visit.
- YouTube — the video tour is only loaded when you click the play button, and then from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced version. Until you click, no connection is made with YouTube. After you click, YouTube (Google) may process data about your visit.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — the booking request form, the contact form and the guestbook are protected against spam with Cloudflare’s Turnstile. Turnstile is only loaded on pages with one of these forms. Cloudflare processes technical data from your browser, such as your IP address, solely to check that a person is filling in the form. Turnstile does not set any cookies. The newsletter sign-up form uses MailPoet’s own check, with no third party involved.
In addition, the website sets one functional cookie of its own: WP_SESSION_COOKIE. It belongs to the component that keeps track of the availability of the holiday homes and only remembers a random session code. It contains no personal data, is not used to track you, is not shared with anyone and expires after 30 minutes.
The availability calendar only fetches the booked dates from our calendar on FeWo-direkt. No names or other guest data are transferred.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to the processing of your data. To do so, send an email to info@domstolat.com. We will respond within four weeks.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
